n: A cement that can quickly solidify. It is manufactured by adding accelerater to oil well cement.

a material that can quickly destabilize foam in a production fluid treating facility. Commonly needed after treatment with foamers, diesel, some polymers, some acids and gasified fluids.

a relatively impermeable stratum that does not transmit water fast enough to supply a well.

n: a device that stores hydraulic fluid under pressure in special containers and provides a method to open and close the blowout preventers quickly and reliably. Usually, compressed air and hydraulic pressure provide the opening and closing force in the unit. See blowout preventer. Also called an accumulator.

n: a device made up in the drill string that, when actuated, de- livers a heavy downward blow to the string. A bumper jar has a hollow body that moves upward when the drill string is picked up. When the string is dropped quickly, the jar body produces a sharp downward blow on the tubing or pipe made up below the jar. If downward blows can free a fish, a bumper jar can be very effective.

n: Made by upwardness, lower part of the body and joint. The upwardness and lower part of the body are connected with plain bearing. The operating principle of it is the same with bumper sub. Used to handle sticking when the drill bit is not at the bottom.

a quick opening, low pressure valve, common on large openings through which solids will move, that allows high flow rate when open.

n: CaO, the main component of lime. White cubic crystal or powder. Mainly used for manufacturing calcic drill fluid.

a drillable plug that can be quickly and reliable set to isolate a section of the well.

n: the formation and collapse of vapour gas-filled cavities that result from a sudden decrease and increase of pressure. Cavitation can cause mechanical damage to adjacent surfaces in meters, valves, pumps, and pipes at locations where flowing liquid encounters a restriction or change in direction.

the creating of a high speed, very low pressure vapor bubble that quickly and violently collapses. Very detrimental to surfaces in the near proximity. Often seen in severe turbulent flow.

n: an acoustic survey or sonic-logging method that records the quality or hardness of the cement used in the annulus to bond the casing and the formation. Casing that is well bonded to the formation transmits an acoustic signal quickly;poorly bonded causing transmits a signal slowly. See acoustic survey. acoustic well logging.
