n: total pressure measured from an absolute vacuum. It equals the sum of the gauge pressure and the atmospheric pressure. Expressed in pounds per square inch.

n: 1. the amount of pressure exerted on the interior walls of a vessel by the fluid contained in it (as indicated by a pressure gauge). It is expressed in pounds per square inch gauge or in kilo- pascals. Gauge pressure plus atmospheric pressure equals absolute pressure. 2. pressure measured relative to atmospheric pressure considered as zero.
