adj: descriptive of work done on daywork rates.

n: The work whose capacity is computed by day. It is a foundation of paying.

n: A kind of contract that operator pays authorized cost by day in order to compensate operating cost about drilling rig and operating force.

n: The operation which is not included in payment by footage in drilling contract. For example, coring, DST, ES and perforation and the drilling operation which exceeds contractual well depth in the drilling contract.

n pi: the basis for payment on drilling contracts when footage rates are suspended (as when the drilling rig is used in taking extra cores. logging. or other activities that delay actual drilling) or when the contract daywork rates. In effect, daywork rates pay the drilling contractor by the hour rather than by the foot.
