n: a bottomhole assembly. usually made up of drill collars and a stabiliser just above the bit, that can be used to increase hole angle. In holes inclined 3 degrees or more off vertical. the stabiliser acts as a fulcrum;the drill collars above the fulcrum sag toward the low side of the hole, forcing the bit toward the high side and increasing hole angle.
