n: a station to which a transmission company delivers gas to the distribution company. This is the point at which interstate and intrastate pipelines sell and deliver gas to local distribution companies. Usually built adjacent to a natural gas transmission line in a sparsely populated area on the outskirts of a population centre. Also called city gas station, town border station.

n: defined by the FERC as any sale of natural gas to any interstate pipeline or intrastate pipeline, to any local distribution company, or to any per- son for use by such person.

n: a natural gas pipeline company that is engaged in the transportation, by pipeline, of natural gas not subject to FERC jurisdiction under the Natural Gas Act and under the Natural Gas Policy Act.
