Log calibration is based on the use of a permanent calibration facility of the American Petroleum Institute at the University of Houston to establish standard units for nuclear logs.

n: in a pipe prover, an electrical switch activated by the displacement sphere as it moves through the U-portion of the prover. Activating the switch sends an electric current through a cable to a pulse generator.

The displacer has an elastic seal that contacts the inner pipe wall of a prover to prevent leakage.
