abbr: choke-line friction pressure. clingage n: the amount of oil that adheres to the wall of a measuring or prover tank after draining.

n: a relatively small calibrated tank, open to the atmosphere. Often used to prove meters at loading racks. In use, the meter to be proved is set at zero and the prover tank is filled to a calibrated height while the meter registers the amount of liquid flowing d1rough it. When the tank is filled, the calibrated volume in it is compared to the volume the meter registered. If the meter is inaccurate, it is adjusted or a factor is used to compensate for the inaccuracy.
