n: a station to which a transmission company delivers gas to the distribution company. This is the point at which interstate and intrastate pipelines sell and deliver gas to local distribution companies. Usually built adjacent to a natural gas transmission line in a sparsely populated area on the outskirts of a population centre. Also called city gas station, town border station.
