n: see breakout cathead, cathead. makeup cathead.

n: The general form of address of mechanized cathead. Used for winding wire line automatically and draw the tongs to make up and breakout.

n: wire line made of braided aluminum wires, which is strengthened by the addition of steel wires, and which conducts electricity.

n: a drilling assemblage in which the bit ,pipe and movable ring are used

n: an instrument calibrated to show the speed in feet per minute at which wire line is raised or lowered in the hole. The line speed indicator may be driven mechanically by the measuring wheel and placed next to the depth odometer, or it may be driven by a motor.
