Committee members are approved by the SERC and include elected state and local officials;police, fire, and public health officials;environmental advocates;hospital and transportation officials;industry representatives;community groups;and the media. The function of the LEPC is to develop an emergency response plan that will be implemented if a hazardous material is released in the community.
