n: the circumstance in whichj the outer diameter of screw joint on the ends of the pipe is larger than the outer diameter of the pipe body

a pipe connection with a thicker connection body than the pipe body. In an EUE, the thickness is offset to the outside diameter.

n: (EVE) on tubing, casing, or drill pipe, the thickening at each end of the joint such that the internal diameter of the joint is not affected;i.e., it remains uniform throughout the joints length. Only the outside diameter is enlarged at each end. Pipe is thickened, or upset, at each end to increase its strength so that threads, couplings, or tool joints may be attached. n: a joint which is used to connect with internal upset drill pipe or internal/external upset drill pipe,the jonit internal diameter is equal in the thickened drill pipes diameter but it is small than drill pipes internal diameter.

n: (lUE) an extra-thick inside wall on the end of tubing or drill pipe at the point where it is threaded to compensate for the metal removed in threading. Unlike external upset drill pipe, which has the extra thickness on the outside, drill pipe with internal upset has the extra thickness inside and a uniform, straight wall outside.
