n: a cylindrical projection liquids may expand without overflowing. Gauge point is often in the expansion dome. Shell thickness is part of dome capacity.

a gun made up of perforating charges linked together with wire or clips. The debris is not recovered on the wireline run.

n: the search for reservoirs of oil and gas, including aerial and geophysical surveys, geological studies, core testing, and drilling of wildcats.

a general term covering the search for oil and gas.
اکتشاف

n: a well drilled either in search of an as-yet-undiscovered pool of oil or gas (a wildcat well) or to extend greatly the limits of a known pool. It involves a relatively high degree of risk. Exploratory wells may be classified as (1) wildcat, drilled in an unproven area;(2) field extension or step-out, drilled in an unproven area to extend the proved limits of a field;or (3) deep test, drilled within a field area but to unproven deeper zones.

n: A well drilled in an unproven area where no oil and gas production exists (sometimes called a wildcat).

a wildcat or well in a new area with unknown producing potential.
چاه توسعه ای

n: see explosion door:

n: on an engine, one of usually several spring-loaded, lightweight metal plates placed over openings in the engines crankcase. Oxygen in the air entering the base of an engine mixes with the oil there. A hot spot could cause the oil and oxygen to explode and damage the crank- case. To prevent such damage, the spring- operated explosion covers (doors) open to release the pressure from the explosion. They then slam closed to prevent more air from entering. Also called explosion cover.

n: when explosives are used to fracture a formation. At the moment of detonation, the explosion furnishes a source of high-pressure gas to force fluid into the formation. The rubble prevents fracture healing, making the use of proppants unnecessary. Compare hydraulic fracturing.

one of several techniques used to break the rock in the near well area. It was an early stimulation method. Fractures formed in this method are short. Although still used, its best application is in perf breakdown and overcoming some near well damage.

constant percent decline of production rate over time.

n: a device made up on an overshot to lengthen it so that it can pass over the damaged top of a fish and securely engage an undamaged area of the fish. See overshot. External line-up clamps are usually used on pipe with a diameter of 8 inches (20 centimetres) or less. Compare internal lineup clamp.

n: the added nipple between the body of bell socket and the top joint

a choke capable of handling high solids content flow. The external sleeve is moved over a perforated hub with high erosion resistance properties.
