n: the procedure by which a quantity of resinous material is squeezed into a sandy formation to consolidate the sand and to prevent its flowing into the well. The resinous material is hardened by the addition of special chemicals, which creates a porous mass that permits oil to flow into the well but holds back the sand at the same time.
